Black Diamond Vehicle Components are importers and wholesale distributors of VisionX LED Lighting and Superwinch winches in South Africa.
Combining the superior distance of Iris Reflector technology with the spread of Elliptical optics the ADV Light Cannon series shines a powerful combo driving beam that is optimal for all terrains. Coupled with a smooth back-lit halo and a robust 4-bolt steel trunnion bracket the ADV Light Cannon Series was engineered to out shine and out last the competition.
Designed similarly to our popular round pod style lights, the VL Driving Light offers multi LED Reflectors to provide a spread of light at a distance. With the VL Driving series we are able to streamline the manufacturing process in our new facility to the point we can offer a free set of Flood Covers and bring the price down to a point even entry level offroaders will be happy with, while still keeping the Vision X quality.
The Vortex-Series is available in a round 5.75” and 7” LED headlight replacement, it has three different beam options high, low, halo. The headlight replacement comes standard with a multi-volt 12V DC input. This light weighs and comes in chrome and black chrome. The Vortex series is ideal for vehicles and motorcycles.
VisionX lighting is developed in the USA and exported to various countries around the world. VisionX focus on a solutions approach and not just supplying a standard lighting product.
There are 4 pillars that VisionX base their products on:
- Preventative Maintenance
- Cost Savings
Our advantage is the way the LED is driven and made, thereby providing a quality product and quality of light output.
Various options are available such as the light beam patterns, light temperature output as well as numerous designs.
VisionX’s single source build lighting is widely known and calibrated light in the automotive industry. Its single source build is one of the first pod style lights to push the bullet in high wattage-high output LEDs. This is one of the reasons the Vision X light Cannon has such a thick tough aluminum housing as it helps disperse the heat helping the light to stay at its brightest.
Types of L.E.DS
Many types and grades of L.E.D.’s exist. Various lens and colour configurations are possible by applying lenses over the L.E.D.’s. This creates different beam patterns and colour output, by manipulating the L.E.D with various materials to achieve the desired effect.
Grading of L.E.DS
Binning is used by L.E.D. manufacturers to separate grades of L.E.D.’s and again to represent colour output or colour temperature within each grade to ensure matched colour and performance. One of the ways to create a competitive advantage by manufacturers are to use different performing L.E.Ds. Many manufacturers use lower graded L.E.Ds to create a copy-cat type of light. This is due to the reduced cost of lower grading to create price competitiveness in the market.
Factors influencing L.E.D’ s
The biggest threat to L.E.Ds is heat, and therefore the most important aspect of an L.E.D. is how you drive it. All things being equal, a company’s electronic driver is the biggest differentiating factor between products in the market.
Driving an L.E.D. to its full potential while keeping the L.E.D. and electronics within their manufactures’ heat requirements, is the largest hurdle for companies to overcome. This ensures maximum light output while retaining the long-life properties of an L.E.D. Cheaper L.E.D light manufacturers don’t have Thermal Management Systems (TMS) and can therefore only drive their L.E.Ds to an average of 70% light output capacity. Companies producing premium L.E.Ds that utilise Thermal Management Systems can drive an L.E.D light output capacity to 100%.
Quality L.E.Ds operate under the following conditions:
- Multi Volt Input. 9-64V (Differs between manufacturers)
- Thermal Management System– Driven to 100% while thermally managing the components.
- PWM Dimming– Using Pulse Width Modulation to control the L.E.D.’s heat temperature. This operates in conjunction with the TMS.
- Advanced Heat Sink – Channel L.E.Ds heat sink design creates convection cooling.
- Precision Optics – Channel light to desired beam pattern.
Quality lights manufacturers supply various industries with lighting, such as off-road, mining, space exploration etc. They therefore subject their product to the various tests such as Zero Atmosphere; Waterproof Test; Vibration Testing; Beam pattern testing; CE Approval; Thermal Testing
